In this video tutorial I will show you how I created this retro sticker. Draw a character on paper, then scan and use the live trace tool to vectorise your drawing. Then use Illustrator to colour the character and add typographic elements to the sticker.

During the logo creation many artists use the blend tool to create some kind of shadows to also add detail to the logo (for example GTA 5). Creating Patterns
Here is a 5 minute tutorial demonstrating how to make polka dot pattern swatches in Adobe Illustrator CS6. I remember the days when we had to create our own polka dot swatches in Illustrator by chopping up circles and aligning them into a seamless pattern - ugh!
Today we're going to play around in Adobe Illustrator to create a seamlessly repeating pattern. Since it's almost Halloween, we'll make a pattern out of spooky illustrations, then add a couple of cool finishing touches to give the artwork a retro style print effect with subtle ink bleeds and misregistration.
Illustrator tutorial: Create a Vector Sunburst Quickly and Easily Learn to create a vector sunburst in Illustrator. This technique works with all versions of Illustrator including CS6, CC, CC2014 & CC2015. The process is simple and uses a stroke to make the sunburst - it is quick and doesn't require a lot of fiddling to create.
